Unleashing the Gospel at Holy Redeemer
Throughout the last 135 years, Holy Redeemer Grade School has continued to serve the southwest Detroit community insuring a strong Catholic presence, while providing excellence throughout the curriculum with an emphasis in STEM and the arts. With the help of scholarship programs we have been able to offer a Catholic Education to all in our diverse community. With our state of the art learning environment and keeping with 21st Century expectations, we are proud to say that student enrollment continues to climb every year. We look forward to providing a Catholic Education for 135 more years to come.
Innovation, Experience and Opportunity from ages 3 to 13!
Holy Redeemer Grade School continues to meet the challenge of educating and preparing students to meet the demands of an ever changing world. This year we successfully completed our first Preschool program for 3 and 4 year olds, in our newly renovated Marie Terese Tobin Early Childhood Wing.
This school year we piloted our Coding Program for 1st-4th grade elementary students. Our students learned about basic programming using Robot Mice, Beebots, and Ozobots. It was a huge success and we are excited to extend the program into the upcoming school year.
The introduction to our new medical classroom started off strong with visits from medical residents and a nurse. Our students learned all about the correct names of medical tools doctors use and how CPR is performed on adults and infants, just to name a few topics that were covered.
STEM at Starbase
Our 4th grade students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in all things STEM at Starbase on Selfridge Airforce Base . Our students completed a series of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math based activities throughout a 5 week period. We will continue this partnership this upcoming school year.
Our middle school students enjoyed using our new Study Room preparing for exams, projects, or when they just needed some alone time to work on assignments. This space provides a quiet and relaxing environment for students to focus on their academics.
