Timeless Teachings in a Changing World

Faith - Preparation for and reception of the sacraments is an integral part of our Religious Education program.  First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are prepared for and received in Grade 2 and Confirmation is received in Grade 8.  Families who wish to receive reception in the Church through the rite of Baptism are assisted in this process as well. In class, the students learn about God, the Gospel and church history.  Students attend Mass and confession on a regular basis, students also participate as lectors and altar servers. It is the mission of Holy Redeemer to lead students in knowing God and living the Gospel.

Learning - The goal of our program is for each child to experience success and gain a positive self-image in a nurturing and friendly classroom settting.  We maintain small classroom sizes, a veteran staff of certified teachers dedicated to Holy Redeemer excellence, computers and Smart Boards in the classrooms as well as Title 1 and individual tutoring services.  An additional after-hours homework program is offered three days a week.  Breakfast, hot lunch and milk service are available to help maintain proper nutrition for optimal learning.

Service - Putting faith and learning into action is the heart of Holy Redeemer Grade School.  Through projects large and small, Holy Redeemer students leave a legacy of caring that is hard to beat.  Sometimes the service is in the form of helping others they know.  More often than not, service projects benefit others the students will never meet.  Faith in action is seen from the student's food or monetary donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society on Mass days, our annual Pennies for Patients program for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Michigan, collection for Feed My Starving Children or the collection of non-perishable foods for our Thanksgiving baskets.  These are but a few examples of how the students at Holy Redeemer live their faith.
